Wildwoods Construction Update December 2025
North Wildwood Beach Erosion Update
Beach erosion remains one of the most closely watched issues along the Jersey Shore, and North Wildwood is no exception.
This update takes a fresh look at the condition of the beach as winter weather begins to impact the shoreline.
The city continues to monitor erosion patterns closely, particularly following recent storms, and to be honest, knock on wood, the erosion hasn’t been too bad.
We say this with the mindset that the Spring Nor’Easter storms could still do a major number on our beaches.

At The Beach House Condos, the former Panorama Motel at 2101 Surf Ave, a new sign has been installed.
While construction on the property has been completed, many were hoping that the new sign would be cool and done in a Doo-Wop style. Sorry to bust the bad news, it’s not.
Maybe in the future we can put together a rule that any new sign in the Wildwoods has to either be in a Doo-Wop style or in a fun theme (which do you prefer?)
Old Ivanhoe Motel Redevelopment
The former Ivanhoe Motel site continues its transformation, as plans move forward to replace the aging motel with five new single family homes. This project reflects a broader trend seen throughout the Wildwoods, where older motels are being repurposed into residential properties.
Construction activity at the site shows steady progress, marking a significant change for the neighborhood and signaling a new chapter for a once familiar landmark.
Some of those single family homes are already on the market. 422 E 21st Ave just hit the market for $2.8 Million.

One of the most anticipated infrastructure projects in the area is the North Wildwood Boardwalk Reconstruction Project.
The first phase has officially begun from 26th to 24th. This reconstruction is a complete tear-down and rebuild using wood piling versus just fixing the concrete supports.
Up to the point we have already seen crews not only put in the pilings but also start on the cross bracing to get things ready for the top decking. This is only partly though since just north 25th, they still need to add in the wood pilings.

Construction continues to move quickly at the Wild Resort site.
This large scale project is shaping up to be one of the most notable additions to the Wildwoods in recent years.

With visible progress on the structure, the resort is steadily taking form and promises to bring new lodging options and amenities to the island.
To get the building fully structurally sound, crews are replacing most of the steel in the facade of the building. When the WVA was there, crews were cutting pieces away so that they could replace them with new steel.
The pace of construction suggests that developers are keeping summer 2026 firmly in sight.

Over at Morey’s Piers, renovation work is still ongoing on the iconic Giant Wheel.
As one of the most recognizable attractions on the Wildwood Boardwalk, the boardwalk looks empty without it towering above.
The hub is currently at the Navy Yard getting refurbished while Morey’s crews are working on the spokes on the beach.
The ongoing renovation aims to refresh and maintain the ride, ensuring it remains a centerpiece attraction for years to come.

Rounding out the update is progress on the Wildwood sign beach balls renovation.
These colorful beach balls have become a popular photo spot for visitors, and their refurbishment helps keep the iconic sign area looking fresh and inviting.
Those who may have visited the Wildwoods this past week may have noticed that the beach balls had lost their color. With the snow that just fell, they looked like giant snowballs.
Crews stripped down the paint by sandblasting them, then primed them, hence the white, and are now painting them. If you look on the wildwood Boardwalk Earth Cam, you can see they look like peppermint candies.
As construction continues through the winter months, each of these projects brings the Wildwoods one step closer to a refreshed and exciting summer season.
