High Risk Of Rip Currents In New Jersey Due To Irma
I just wanted to send out a reminder that even though Irma is still so far away, her forces still impact our area. According to the National Weather Service, Most of New Jersey’s coast line will be at high risk for dangerous rip currents.
What does this mean for those going into the waters? The most important thing that it means is that you MUST swim by a lifeguard. All of our life guards are trained to handle rip currents. They are taught on how to see where a rip current is forming and how to rescue swimmer who are trapped in them.
Here is the link to the National Weather Service’s website where they have updates on the rip currents in our area.
The rip currents could stay in our area for the following week depending on where Irma decides to head towards.
Below is a video on how to get out of rip currents. Watch it. It could save your life one day!
