Yesterday New Jersey lawmakers made their way to the Wildwoods to get a special tour of the aging sections of the Wildwood. With New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy vetoing a bill that would help fix these issues South Jersey lawmakers are stepping up to propose $40 million bill.
Senate President Steve Sweeney, Senator Robert Andrzejczak Assemblyman Bruce Land and Matt Milam will all on hand to make an announcement that would help fund the repairs and upgrades.
Their plan includes a new bill would designate all boardwalks in the state as roadways. This money would be withdrawn through the State’s transportation trust fund.
With Cape May Country delivering over 550 million dollars in tax dollars it’s about time we see some of the money return. While it’s not the $56 million, it’s a great plan that will help our boardwalk.
If all goes well New Jersey lawmakers can start acting on it in November.
