Families Needed To Host Coast Guard Recruits For the Holiday

It’s that time of year where we give thanks for our freedoms we have every single day. These freedoms are protected by the many service men and women who serve every day.

The recruits at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center, in Cape May New Jersey, are unable to make it home for the holidays during their eight-week basic training and so they are looking for families in South Jersey who want to host the recruits.

The program, Operation Fireside, has been around for 35 years and was created by the  American Red Cross.

All families who want to host a recruit need to live a max of 50 miles and an hour drive from the Coast Guard Training Center.
