We have some sad news coming out North Wildwood today. Candlelight Inn Bed and Breakfast, which is located at 2310 Central Ave sold this past week.
N. Wildwood’s Candlelight Inn SOLD
According to the property records it sold for to $925,000 to the Farrell family. You might know the Farrells as they also own the Florentine located at 1901 Surf Ave in North Wildwood.
The Candlelight Inn is a beautifully restored Bed & Breakfast built at the turn of the century by Leaming Rice. This Queen Anne, Victorian style structure served as the family home for many years and remained in the Rice family until it was purchased by its former Innkeepers in 1985.
From 1985 to today the Victorian bed and breakfast operated under three sets of proprietors.
According to the old owners, the Farrells plan to make the house private and not offer it as an Inn though you can rent out the Carriage House to stay in.
As we are told if you do rent the Carriage House you would have access to the pool at the Florentine motel.
It doesn’t seem that the new owners would run Candlelight like an Inn anyway as the sign has been removed and donated to the Wildwood Historical Society.
Tune back later for more details.
