It’s always sad to see our sister boardwalks go through a horrible disaster.
For those who don’t know, yesterday, around 8am Playland’s Castaway Cove suffered from a 4-alarm fire.

4-Alarm Fire At Ocean City’s Playland Amusement Park

Ocean City Amusement Pier Heads Into Auction
Now that it’s been over 24 hours since the fire, we can finally see the damage that was left.
Thanks to Michael Beam who took some amazing drone photos (at the bottom), we can see that our amazing first responders were able to contain most of the damage to one structure.
Due to it being a 4-Alarm fire, fire stations around Cape May County came in to help out. Here is a list of towns who came by to help.

Upper Township Division of EMS was diverted to handle several additional EMS calls in Ocean City.

The Upper Township Rescue Squad was also requested to assist with rehabilitation of responders and provide EMS standby.

Marmora firefighters were originally assigned as a Rapid Intervention Team but were quickly diverted to suppression operations.

Tankers were requested from Marmora Seaville and Tuckahoe fire companies. Tuckahoe Firefighters also covered the Marmora Firehouse.

Seaville firefighters were also on standby at Ocean City station 2, with Strathmere at Ocean City station 3.

Marmora engine placed 1100’ of 5” hose into service to supplement water supply.

Wildwood sent Rescue Co. 3 for fire suppression and extensive overhaul.
