Ernie Troiano Jr. Returns as Wildwood’s Mayor
The City of Wildwood set the stage for a new era as it welcomed its recently sworn-in commissioners during a prestigious ceremony at the Wildwoods Convention Center on January 3, 2024.
The inauguration marked the return of Ernest Troiano, Jr. to the title of President/Mayor of the Board, alongside Vice-President/Deputy Mayor Steve Mikulski and Commissioner Krista Fitzsimons.

Troiano, a familiar face in Wildwood politics, assumes the Mayor’s seat once again, having held the position for approximately 19 years
Mikulski and Fitzsimons, both re-elected in consecutive terms, complete the trio that will lead the city through the next chapter of its growth and development.
In their respective roles, the commissioners will oversee key departments:
Wildwood City Hall Gets New Sign
Ernest Troiano, Jr., reassuming the role of President/Mayor of the Board, will take charge of Public Works, Parks & Recreation, and Special Events. Steve Mikulski, as Vice-President/Deputy Mayor, will spearhead efforts in Public Safety and Public Affairs. Meanwhile, Commissioner Krista Fitzsimons will focus on the vital realm of Revenue & Finance.
Together, they bring a wealth of experience and a commitment to the ongoing redevelopment and regrowth of Wildwood. This vision, initiated by Troiano over four years ago, has already borne fruit with successful projects like the Pacific Avenue and Back Bay redevelopment.
Troiano expressed his optimism for the future, stating, “I am looking forward to smart development; continued road improvement programs that go beyond flood mitigation; ensuring that Wildwood is an affordable town to live and thrive in; and creating a committee for second homeowners (who are often not voters) to have their voices heard.”

Mikulski, who has overseen critical departments such as Police, Fire, and Beach Patrol for the past four years, shared his enthusiasm for the community’s future. “Today means hope,” he emphasized. “We will put Wildwood first, we will win at our goals, and we will do it together as a community.”
Fitzsimons, focusing on collaboration, expressed her commitment to supporting her co-commissioners, city hall employees, and the community at large. “I am looking forward to continuing to network and work with changemakers and leaders from our county and beyond,” she said.
Collectively, the commissioners are dedicated to fostering smart development, ensuring public safety, managing city finances responsibly, and maintaining Wildwood’s affordability.
As they embark on this new chapter, their shared goal is to create a thriving and inclusive community, building upon the foundations laid in the past and paving the way for a vibrant future for the City of Wildwood.
