The New Jersey State Police (NJSP) is requesting the public’s help in identifying human remains found in Dennis Township, Cape May County.
This discovery has left authorities seeking answers and the community is encouraged to come forward with any information.
State Police Request Help Identifying Human Remains Found in Cape May County
The remains were uncovered on December 22, 2024, in Belleplain State Forest, a sprawling natural area in Cape May County. Investigators believe the remains belong to a Caucasian or Hispanic female, standing approximately 5’1” tall.
Two tattoos found on the individual may provide critical clues to her identity. One is a koi fish tattoo located on the upper right portion of her back, near the shoulder blade, and the other is a rose tattoo on her left ribs, extending from her chest to her hip.

In addition to the tattoos, personal belongings discovered at the scene include a distinctive yoga mat and a necklace.
Authorities have released images of these items in hopes that someone may recognize them and provide valuable information to aid in the investigation.
