In their farewell post, the owners wrote:

“To all of you who dined with us, shared a glass of wine, celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, and simple nights out—you became more than guests, you became family. Thank you for the love, the laughs, and the loyalty. It’s been an amazing ride.”

Trio was more than just a restaurant. It was a dream shared by cousins Chef Gus Zimmerman and Paul Gioquindo along with Paul’s wife, Debbie. The name Trio was a nod to their family connection and collective vision to bring something fresh and exciting to the Wildwoods dining scene.

Chef Gus grew up on his family’s Elm Grove Farm in Pennsylvania, where food was truly farm to table long before the phrase became trendy.

Debbie brought expertise as a Certified Specialist of Wine while Paul kept the business running smoothly behind the scenes.

Together, they blended culinary creativity with hospitality rooted in warmth and community.

When Trio opened its doors in mid-2021, it set out to merge approachable bar favorites with the sophistication of fine dining.

Guests could enjoy everything from scratch-made cocktails to refined entrées all within a casual yet polished setting.

The restaurant featured indoor and outdoor seating, two open kitchens, and even a chef’s table that gave diners a front row seat to the action.

The menu reflected Chef Gus’s flair for bold flavors. Bang Bang Calamari, Salmon glazed with honey, ginger, and lemon, Guava Chili Pork Chop with cheese grits, and his signature seafood Chef’s Cakes became crowd favorites.

Trio quickly built a loyal following. Guests praised the restaurant for its welcoming vibe, creative dishes, and attentive service.

Whether it was a family birthday, a date night, or just a casual dinner, Trio earned a reputation as a place where memories were made.

Now, as its final service approaches, the owners, Debbie, Paul, and Chef Gus are looking ahead to a new chapter, leaving behind a legacy of flavors, laughter, and unforgettable nights in North Wildwood.

What is in store for the Trio building? What is it going to be? These are all questions we don’t know yet.
