Well you did it. You made it to Memorial Day Weekend!

Ignore the fact that our weathermen across the tri-state are calling for rain Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with a high of 65 degrees and a low of 54.

This weekend is the unofficial start of the summer season packed with a fun list of activities for the whole family.

As we say, a little bit of rain down the shore is better than a little bit of rain at home.

Here is a list of all of the activities taking place down here in the Wildwoods for this Memorial Day weekend.

Morey’s Piers Hours

This weekend is the official opening weekend of Morey’s Surfside Pier and Adventure Pier (Mariner’s Pier has been open weekends).

Friday, May 22nd, the piers will be open from 6 PM-11 PM

Saturday, May 23rd + Sunday, May 24th – Surfside and Mariners Pier will be open from 12 pm-11 pm, with Adventure Pier opening at 2 pm and closing at 11 pm

Monday, May 25th – All Three Piers Open at Noon, with Surfside and Adventure Pier closing at 6 PM and Mariner’s Pier closing at 10 pm

The Greater Wildwoods Elks Lodge #1896 and the Greater Wildwoods Tourism Improvement & Development Authority will once again host the annual Flags of Liberty Ceremony on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 10 a.m.

Held at the Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial Wall, the patriotic ceremony honors the memories of deceased veterans and has become one of the Wildwoods’ most meaningful Memorial Day Weekend traditions.

The Wildwoods International Kite Festival returns for its 40th anniversary celebration this year, bringing colorful displays and family-friendly entertainment to the beaches and the Wildwoods Convention Center.

The festival officially begins Friday, May 22, at noon outside the convention center and continues throughout the weekend. Highlights include illuminated night kite flying Friday evening, giant inflatable kites, team flying demonstrations, auctions, family games, and the World Indoor Kite Exhibition on Monday.

The event is free for spectators and takes place on the beach at Rio Grande Avenue and inside the convention center.

Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market Season Kick-Off

The Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market officially opens its 2026 season on Saturday morning at Byrne Plaza.

Running from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., the market features more than 70 vendors each week with fresh produce, baked goods, breakfast foods, coffee, homemade specialties, local honey, craft beverages, handmade crafts, pet items, clothing, and more.

The market takes place at 3400 Pacific Avenue and across the street at 3501 Pacific Avenue.

Visitors can also stop by the Downtown Wildwood information booth for local information and merchandise.

The annual Boardwalk Craft Show returns to the southern end of the Wildwoods Boardwalk this Memorial Day Weekend.

The event features dozens of artisans and vendors selling handcrafted jewelry, artwork, beach-themed décor, homemade treats, and unique gifts along the boardwalk.

The show runs Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free and the event is rain or shine.

Sun Bum’s Banana-Eating World Championship

Competitive eating returns to the boardwalk as Sun Bum hosts the Banana-Eating World Championship on Saturday, May 23, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The event takes place at Eastside Surf Shop and will feature 10 professional eaters attempting to break a new banana-eating record.

Organizers say the event will also include music, sunscreen giveaways, and additional surprises throughout the afternoon.

Wildwood Crest Summer Kickoff Concert

The Borough of Wildwood Crest will officially kick off summer with a free concert on Sunday, May 24, at 7 p.m.

The concert takes place at Centennial Park and features Big House performing dance, party, and alternative hits.

Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or chair for the family-friendly event.

Run to Remember 5K

The annual Run to Remember 5K Memorial Day Run returns to North Wildwood on Sunday, May 24.

The event raises money to benefit veterans and families who have lost loved ones in military service. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with the race starting at 8:30 a.m.

In addition to the 5K race, organizers will also host a one-mile walk.

North Wildwood Memorial Day Ceremony

To close out the holiday weekend, VFW Post 5941 will host the annual North Wildwood Memorial Day Ceremony on Tuesday, May 26, at 10 a.m.

The ceremony will be held at Veterans Memorial Park located at Spruce and New York Avenues.
