A Bier Run is Coming to the Wildwood Boardwalk at Morey’s Piers Oktoberfest
Wildwood knows how to throw a party, and this September a brand-new event is hitting the beach that combines running shoes, boardwalk views, and plenty of bier.
On Saturday, September 13th, 2025, Morey’s Piers will host the inaugural Boardwalk Bier Run, a two-mile fun run designed to kick off their annual Oktoberfest celebration with a refreshing twist.

A Bier Run is Coming to the Wildwood Boardwalk at Morey’s Piers Oktoberfest
The event begins at PigDog Beach Bar, located at the oceanfront end of Mariner’s Pier at Schellenger Avenue. Runners, joggers, and walkers will hit the sand at 5:30 p.m., following the high tide line north toward Surfside Pier.
The first stop along the way isn’t your usual water station. Instead, participants will enjoy their first beverage at Curley’s Fries on 26th & the Boardwalk.
For adults, that means a cold bier, while kids and non-drinkers can enjoy a frosty root beer.
After recharging, participants will continue along the Wildwood boardwalk, heading south past the familiar sights and sounds of Mariner’s Pier before turning onto Adventure Pier for another round of refreshments.
The course then winds back onto the beach and toward the finish line at Wilhelm’s Bier Garten on Mariner’s Pier.
There, runners will be greeted with live music, a festive Oktoberfest atmosphere, and the ultimate reward: a commemorative stein filled with celebratory bier and a giant soft pretzel.

Unlike traditional races, the Bier Run isn’t timed. The focus is on fun, camaraderie, and soaking in the Wildwood experience. Whether you’re jogging with friends, strolling with family, or simply there for the food and drinks, the event offers something for everyone.
Every registration includes plenty of perks: complimentary drinks along the course, snacks at the finish line, and the collectible Bier Run stein.
There’s even a special Run & Ride Bundle available for $49, which includes admission to Mariner’s Pier for the day in addition to the Bier Run.
For those just looking to join the race, admission is $35. Participants can also purchase an official event t-shirt for $25, but orders must be placed online before August 21st.
And of course, Oktoberfest wouldn’t be complete without the outfits. Participants are encouraged to wear lederhosen, dirndls, or other festive gear. Those who dress to impress could win two free passes to Morey’s Piers.
The event is open to adults and children, though Morey’s notes that it is primarily designed for grown-ups.
All participants must wear sneakers, and waivers are required for everyone, with a parent or guardian signing for minors. Wildwood EMS will also be stationed along the route to ensure safety for all.
Morey’s Boardwalk Bier Run is more than just a race – it’s a celebration of fall at the Jersey Shore.
With its unique mix of beachside running, boardwalk energy, live music, and Oktoberfest traditions, this brand-new event is shaping up to be one of the most memorable weekends of the season.
