We have some sad news for beach blasters. Yesterday Doug Miller, the president of Cape Express Soccer club, made the announcement that the August Beach Blast event has been canceled.
Below is his press release
Hello Beach Blasters,
Unfortunately, I am emailing because we are cancelling the August Beach Blast 2020 event, there are no other dates being considered for 2020. While the rules themselves are currently in place to allow the event to occur, the actual situation is still too fluid for us to be confident that the same rules will be in place at the time of the event or that even if they are, we will be in a position where we feel its OK to safely hold the event. Yes, we are very disappointed too.
While we are hopeful many of you will be able to move your team registration fee to next year rather than request a refund, we understand this may not be possible for all teams. Therefore, I still need to hear from each of you with your team name, age and gender letting me know how to proceed with your team.
Our dates for 2021 are June 26 & 27, 2021 and July 17 & 18, 2021. I’m not sure yet how or when we are going to open registration for 2021, I will be in touch eventually.
Cape Express Soccer Club remains a small, non-profit organization that hosts the Beach Blast and MORE Beach Blast events as a revenue generator for our program and the NEW Cape Express Soccer Complex. We appreciate all the teams that have played at Beach Blast in the past and we look forward to hosting these events in the future.
