Bikes & Beers Cycling Returns to Wildwood With MudHen Festival This May
Wildwood is about to get a little more active and a little more fun this May.
The nationally known Bikes & Beers cycling event is officially returning to the island on Saturday, May 16, bringing hundreds of riders, craft beer fans, and visitors together for a full day that blends fitness, community, and a post-ride celebration right in the heart of town.
The event kicks off early in the morning along the Wildwood Boardwalk, where riders will begin departing in waves between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Participants will have three route options to choose from, including 15, 30, and 45-mile rides, giving both casual cyclists and more serious riders something to take on.
But the ride itself is only half the story.
Once cyclists wrap up their routes, everything shifts over to MudHen Brewing Company, where the post-ride festival will run from about 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. That’s where the event really leans into its name, turning into a full-on celebration with live music, food, and of course, plenty of craft beer.

If you’ve been to MudHen before, you already know the vibe. It’s one of Wildwood’s go-to spots for events like this, and organizers are expecting more than 500 riders to roll through for the celebration. To keep things moving, they’ll be running a limited, fast-service food menu along with a streamlined beer selection so nobody’s stuck waiting in line too long.
For those signing up, the perks are pretty solid. Registration includes two complimentary beers, a commemorative pint glass, and a swag bag, along with access to the festival itself.
There’s also a charity component baked into the event, which is a big part of why this series has grown nationally. A raffle featuring more than $3,000 in prizes, including a brand new bicycle, will help support nonprofit organizations tied to the event.
Organizers say the goal is simple: bring people together, show off Wildwood, and give participants something memorable.
And honestly, it’s the kind of event that fits perfectly here. You’ve got the boardwalk start, scenic rides around the area, and then a built-in afterparty at one of the island’s busiest spots. It’s a solid mix of tourism, local business, and community energy all rolled into one.
Registration is already open online, and based on past years, this is one that tends to fill up as we get closer to the date.
