Christmas In July 2015
It’s the most wonderful time of the year… well almost. We are still about six (6) months away from the Holiday season but for those who go to Wildwood around this time every year, there are always the faint smell of candy canes and baked cookies!
On Saturday, July 25 2015, Santa and his trusty life guard band will be making their way around the North Wildwood beach. From one (1)pm until three (3)pm the Santa and his friends will travel up and down, from North to South, the beach sharing Christmas cheer for all to hear! (Sorry we had to make some Christmas rhyme there).
This is a great event for all ages. Make sure you bring your camera as Santa is not camera shy.
Do you want to know more about the history of Christmas In July? Well we decided to look that up for you.
According to Wikipedia,
“In the southern hemisphere, winter falls in July. Therefore in countries such as Australia, New Zealand and South Africa in order to have Christmas with a winter feel Christmas in July or Midwinter Christmas events are undertaken.”
In other words, there is no rhyme or reason that we here in New Jersey should celebrate Christmas in July. I think the main reason we do it is becasue we all love Christmas and wish it was closer then six (6) months away. On a side note, wouldn’t it be cool to get presents twice a year!!
