A late-season coastal storm will impact the region Friday through Sunday starting Friday morning and running through Sunday.

Widespread rainfall amounts of 1.5-2.5” are expected with localized areas around 3” possible. This may lead to river flooding in Southeastern Pennsylvania and in New Jersey.

Widespread minor coastal flooding is expected across the Atlantic coast, Delaware Bay, and the tidal Delaware River. Areas of moderate coastal flooding are possible in Sussex (DE), Kent (DE), Cape May, Atlantic, SE Burlington, and Ocean Counties.

The time of highest flooding will occur during high tides on Saturday (12:20 AM), Sunday (1:13 AM), and Monday (2:13 AM). [Be sure to move your cars before you go to bed]

Areas of minor coastal flooding may linger into early next week due to persistent northeast winds

The winds will be the biggest issue of this storm with sustained winds of 25-35 mph and gusts 45-55 mph. The coastline towns will be getting the brunt of the gale-force winds.

High surf and beach erosion are likely through the weekend. This means the new sand in North Wildwood will most likely get pushed down the beach.

Be sure to take in anything outside that could be blown away including chairs, trashcan lids… etc.

Stay tuned for more updates.
