If you’re strolling down the Wildwood boardwalk or Cape May’s Washington Street Mall you will notice one big similarity… Help Wanted signs.
Everyone Is Hiring In Cape May County
These big red signs seem very out of place for those who normally walk these routes year after year. Something has dramatically changed… businesses can’t find help.
In most of our groups that we service on Facebook, ads for businesses looking for employees are at an all-time high. These jobs range from servers, lifeguards, maid service, and ride operators.
We have spoken to many businesses this week who have told us that this year has been the hardest to fill positions. With many businesses unable to draw in international students to cover the normal summer jobs, we are left with a surplus of job positions.
With this summer gearing up to be one of the busiest yet due to international travel restrictions, small businesses really need to get these positions filled.
To try and draw people down the shore to workplaces like Morey’s Piers are upping their hourly rate to $15. To compare the New Jersey State minimum wage for seasonal workers is only $11.10 an hour.
While there could be many reasons why folks aren’t willing to work at the shore, you should take this as an opportunity to work at the beach.
If you ever wanted a job at your favorite restaurant or your favorite store now is the time.
Nothing is better than getting done an early shift and heading to the beach to catch some rays.
Call around and make this your best summer ever!
