Back in November 2021, we discovered that a full block of the Wildwood Boardwalk was put up for sale. This section of the boardwalk was labeled as ‘3000 Boardwalk.’ This sits between the streets of Glenwood and Maple Avenues
The listing went on to say;
Full Wildwood Boardwalk Block SOLD
“The Existing 3 Story Structure With 15,000 SF Floor Plates is Located in the BA – Boardwalk Amusement Zoning, Which Allows For Maximum Flexibility in Use, Including Retail and Hotels Up To 6 Stories. The Existing Retail Tenants Generate Almost $450,000 in Gross Revenue, Making the Property an Excellent Covered Land Play While Redevelopment Plans are Approved.”
This is the block that contains Johnny Scoops, It’s Sugar Little Angelo’s Pizza and the mysterious abandoned boardwalk motel.
If you remember back in 2008 these apartments/motel rooms, which are located on the top two floors, were going through a full refurbishment when, unfortunately, the market turned and the project lost funding.
Since 2008 the rooms had sat abandoned but that may be changing in the near future.
According to New Jersey’s public records, this block of the boardwalk finally sold.
The records go on to say that 3000 Boardwalk Sb LLC Sold ‘3000 Boardwalk’ to Wildwood Hospitality Group LLC for $6,200,000.
This sale has become the most expensive sale on the boardwalk to date. It took over the sale of the King’s Inn in North Wildwood which was for $4.1 million.
At this time there is no word on what the new owners plan to do with the new property but we are excited to see new life brought to the top floors.
Up until this point, there had only been a hand full of hotels/motels that overlook the boardwalk. Those properties include Montego Bay, Shore Hotel, Ocean Towers, and a few others.
Tune back later for more updates.
