Halloween in the Wildwoods Decoration Video Tour 2022
Now that Halloween is here, it’s time for the Wildwood Video Archive’s spooky Wildwoods Decoration Tour.
For those who don’t know, every Halloween and Christmas, the WVA drives around the island and showcases some of our favorite decorated houses.
Many people don’t come down to the shore in the offseason so this is their only way to see how cool shore houses look all dressed up for Halloween.
Last year the Wildwoods had a record number of houses decorated. This was due to the pandemic and restrictions that allowed folks to work from home. (and well nothing is better than to work from the shore).
This year things are quite different. It could be that not too many people wanted to decorate or that those who lived down here during the pandemic packed up and only decorated their other houses.

Another interesting thing that we haven’t seen before. Morey’s Piers didn’t lite up their Ferris wheel this season. Usually, we see a pumpkin, bloody eye, skeleton, and more on the wheel, but not this Halloween season.
There was one other interesting thing to note. Many homeowners don’t decorate for Christmas until Mid-November. You can get some folks who do decorate on November 1st BUT for the first time ever we are seeing Christmas decorations up a week before Halloween. Not sure how we feel about this.
