HGTV Is Filming the Wildwoods Next Month
It is always amazing to see that Hollywood likes to use the Wildwoods as their backdrop for their movies and television shows.
One of the biggest television networks that stop by at least once a year is HGTV aka Home & Garden Television. (which we had no idea that’s what it stood for).
Over the past 4 years, we have seen HGTV stop by 4 times to film Beachfront Bargain Hunt, in 2018, 2019, and 2021 and Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovation in 2018.
It turns out that they are back again to film another episode of “Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovation.”
For those who don’t know this show, BBHR, as fans call it, is explained by HGTV as a show that, “follows the progress toward purchasing a fixer-upper, which the family then transforms into its very own sun-drenched oasis. While some of the properties require full guts, including to the kitchens, bathrooms, and master suites, others are made whole with relatively simple cosmetic changes and additions to outdoor spaces.”
In layman’s terms, folks look for their dream home on the cheaper side with the mindset that they will put in some elbow grease to make it into their own.
The news on this story first broke on Facebook via local realtor, Brian Reed. In his post, he informed his follower that “Stay Tuned. The Beach Homes Team will have 1-2 homes featured. filming starts soon.”
For those who don’t know, Reed has been featured on HGTV Beachfront Bargain Hunt this past June on the episode Dreaming Big in the Wildwoods.
In that episode, he helped a couple leave their New Jersey condo for a larger home on the bay.
This time though, Reed did inform folks that only his houses will be in the episode.
“Beachfront Bargain Hunt Renovation” is currently in its fifth season and will be filming for its sixth season which will air in June 2023.
There is no way of knowing when this particular episode will air but we are excited to see cameras back again in the Wildwoods.
If you do plan on looking around for cameras over the next coming weeks, be prepared to see a few of them.
Filming around the same time is the independent movie, “Magic in the Maze.” This film will take place all over Cape May County.
The movie “Magic in the Maze,” is about Leo, a nerdy, piano prodigy, who goes to extremes to attend a party with the cool kids and the girl of his dreams. When his parents refuse him to go, he wishes them dead. His wish comes true. Leo now full of regret believes his words caused their demise. In a plea for redemption, the magic of the maze allows him to relive this time.
