Joe’s Pizzeria Closes Wildwood Boardwalk Location

Joe’s Pizzeria Closes Wildwood Boardwalk Location

Now that Skinny Joey’s Cheesesteaks is officially taking over the former Joe’s Pizzeria location on the Wildwood Boardwalk, one big question immediately started making the rounds. What was going to happen to Joe’s Pizzeria? Were they relocating somewhere else on the boardwalk, or was this the end of the road?

We now have that answer.

After the Wildwood Video Archive reached out for clarification, it didn’t take long before Joe’s Pizzeria made things official. Roughly an hour later, they posted a message confirming that their Wildwood Boardwalk location is permanently closing.

And based on their statement, this one clearly wasn’t easy.

“This one is hard for us…” they wrote. “After so many amazing years on the Wildwood boardwalk, Joe’s Pizzeria will be closing this location for good.”

For anyone who has spent summers walking that stretch of the boardwalk, that message hits. Joe’s wasn’t just another pizza spot. It was part of the routine.

They went on to reflect on what that location meant over the years, saying, “We’ve watched families grow up here, made lifelong friendships, and shared countless memories over slices of pizza, laughs, and those busy summer nights that we’ll never forget.”

That line right there pretty much sums up what a lot of boardwalk businesses become over time. They’re not just places you stop at. They’re places people build traditions around. And the biggest tradition here is the giant slice!

Joe’s also made it clear that this decision goes deeper than just closing a storefront.

“This place has been more than just a business to us — it’s been a part of our life.”

They took time to thank their customers directly as well, writing, “To our customers, friends, and family — thank you. Truly. Your support, loyalty, and love over the years has meant everything to us.”

Now, while this marks the end of their run in Wildwood, it’s not the end of Joe’s Pizzeria altogether.

They confirmed they will continue operating out of their Marlton location, telling customers, “Joe’s Pizzeria & Bistro is still open and ready to welcome you in Marlton, NJ, where we’ll continue doing what we love — serving great food and creating great memories.”

They even extended an invitation to longtime customers, adding, “If you’ve ever supported us, we’d love to see you in Marlton and continue this journey together.”

They closed things out with a simple message that really says it all: “From the bottom of our hearts… thank you, Wildwood.”

So while one of the boardwalk’s longtime staples is officially stepping away, the space won’t stay empty for long. Skinny Joey’s Cheesesteaks is moving in, bringing a completely new concept to that location this summer.

It’s another example of how quickly things can change on the Wildwood Boardwalk. New names come in, others move on, but the memories tied to these places tend to stick around a lot longer.
