Morey’s Piers & Beachfront Water Parks, the premier outdoor sporting venue in South Jersey, is excited to announce the return of all beach sporting events after they were canceled in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. For nearly 20 years, Morey’s Piers has been hosting premier athletic tournaments on the beaches of Wildwood, NJ.
Morey’s Piers Announces Return of All Beach Sporting Events!
This summer, many athletes will flock to the expansive beaches surrounding the amusement pier for a fun-filled weekend of tournaments and amusement rides. Morey’s Piers, a former recipient of the Champion of Economic Impact on Sports Tourism Award by Sports Destination Management, has a jam-packed calendar of sporting events planned for the 2021 season that includes four brand new events.
2021 Beach Sports Event Calendar

Mark Scarpa, Beach Sports & Events Manager, enjoys how Morey’s Piers beach sports events highlight the fun, not just winning. “Sometimes youth sports can be too competitive, with too much focus on winning and moving on to the next game,” says Mark. “With these events, people can play the sport they love, but also have a lot of fun with their family and friends on the boardwalk.”
Some of the new additions to the beach sports calendar include a Beach Volleyball Tournament with Great American Volleyball and a Roundnet tournament called Jersey Shore SpikeFest 1.0. Roundnet is one of America’s fastest-growing sports that is inspired by volleyball and four-square.
“Tri-State Roundnet is thrilled to be having our first Jersey Shore SpikeFest at Morey’s Piers,” said Sebastian Boivin, Co-Founder of Tri-State Roundnet. “The wide beaches (which are great for roundnet), the attractions that Morey’s Piers offers, and the overall atmosphere that the pier provides are just some of the factors that make Morey’s such a great fit for our tournament!”
Morey’s has also partnered with Great American Volleyball to bring the fantastic sport of beach volleyball back to the Wildwoods, NJ. All the action takes place on the beach next to Morey’s Piers PigDog Beach Bar. Divisions range from recreational to top-tier, youth through adult, and doubles as well as six-a-side teams.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to work with Morey’s Piers to bring this exciting new event to the Wildwood beaches,” said Roland Nichols, Morey’s Mania Tournament Director. “Beach wrestling is a new and exciting form of wrestling incorporating the disciplines of Greco-Roman, folk style, Sumo, and just plain old fun – think wrestling your friends on the beach. “
Unlike traditional Lacrosse, the Casey Powell Beach Lacrosse Festival will feature a version of the game known as SPEED Lacrosse. SPEED Lacrosse is an innovative new action sport founded by American lacrosse superstar and Hall of Fame member Casey Powell. It features a 3v3 format that brings non-stop action to the game. In addition, the festival will feature a DJ, prizes, a skills competition, and a SPEED Lacrosse clinic presented by Casey Powell. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit the Casey Powell World Lacrosse Foundation.
It’s not only kids who have the chance to play in many of Morey’s Piers beach sporting events; most of the events accept adult teams, too. A majority of the events include ride passes along with steeply discounted passes for friends and family. For tournament-specific details and to register, you can visit https://www.moreyspiers.com/events.
