This motel was most notably known as the Sandpiper Motel up until 2021. The owners of the original Shore House located at 422 E 16th Ave in North Wildwood purchased it and expanded their resort.

The 911 call said that there was smoke coming out of one of the rooms. Ladder 2 (A Platoon), WFD Squad 3, Station 2-1 & 2-2 were to the scene within a few minutes of the call

Upon arrival heavy smoke was found coming from a 2nd floor unit and a one-alarm fire code was called.

Ladder Company 2, who was first on the scene, conducted a primary search and located a dog in the fire apartment.

The dog was administered oxygen and appeared to be in good condition.

The fire was quickly extinguished and there was no extension to any of the other units.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Cape May County Fire Marshall’s Office.

Thank you to our amazing first responders who train hard to contain fires like these.
