Old Wildwood Dairy Warehouse Could Become Condos
The old Lehigh Valley Dairy Farms building located at 3900 New Jersey Avenue, could soon be demolished to make way for condos.
This comes from a new application submitted to the City of Wildwood Planning/Zoning Board by their new owner, Island Acquisitions, LLC.
The Lehigh Valley Dairy Farms building has a long long history on the island going back over 100 years to when Abbott’s Dairies opened their doors in 1902.
It had changed hands many times but ended up being a part of the Lehigh Valley Dairy Farms warehouse when it sold last year.
At the time there was no word on what could be going into this area, but with more units needed on the island, many figured that it would be torn down for condos.
According to the application, they were right.
The proposal includes demolishing existing structures, creating a major subdivision resulting in 19 newly described lots, and constructing an 18-unit townhouse-style multifamily development with associated amenity areas such as pools, patios, and open space on the 43,600 square-foot property.

The Applicant received variance relief at the March 4, 2024 Board meeting, memorialized by Resolution No. 25-23, to develop 18 townhouse-style units with associated amenities.
This would mean that this reading of their application, set for May 6, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., at City Hall, 4400 New Jersey Avenue, Wildwood, will be their major site plan approval.
What is different on this application is that the Applicant is now seeking additional relief such as;
- Height variance for proposed lots
- Use variance depending on the number of bedrooms per unit
- Various dimensional variances including lot area, frontage, width, depth, side yard setback, rear yard setback, building coverage, and lot coverage
- Waivers for parking space requirements, parking lot landscaping, and fence height regulations
The Wildwood Video Archive hasn’t seen the final designs yet but will be sure to obtain them prior to the meeting.
