There are many hidden gems in the Wildwoods and this is one of them. Located on the very end of Morey’s Mariners Pier, sits a beach bar called PigDog Beach Bar BQ.
PigDog Beach Bar Tour 2022 – Massive Renovations
You might know this bar because it’s been a part of the Morey’s landscape for a few years now. Open for lunch and dinner (til 8 pm) this is a must-stop on your vacation. This offseason though the entire property got a makeover.
Which started a small beach restaurant has blossomed into paradise.
Before we dive into the changes lets talk about the name “PigDog.” People are always confused about where the name came from, which is quite simple.
Pig refers to the kind of food they are known for, BBQ, and Dog because, well you can bring your dog.
On the day we went it was over 95 degrees so all the dogs were somewhere air conditioned but there were photos of four-legged visitors posted up on the poles inside.
The most significant change this year is the building’s size. Morey’s tripled the size of the patio seating and created a massive Hawaiian style roof to cover it.
This was a massive improvement since that place was always packed. Added was more cabanas, which you can rent, hammocks and beach games.
If you cannot make it down to the Wildwoods this summer to see PigDogs renovations, do not worry.
