Plans For Former Shamrock Bar Lot Submitted

Those driving down Pacific Avenue this year will notice that it is going through a massive transformation.

Just last year the city of Wildwood approved the Pacific Avenue Redevelopment Zoning District.

The Pacific Avenue Redevelopment Zoning District in Wildwood is a designated area within the city of Wildwood, New Jersey that has been identified as a priority for redevelopment.

The purpose of this district is to encourage revitalization and economic growth by establishing regulations and guidelines for the development of the area.

The Pacific Avenue Redevelopment Zoning District in Wildwood covers a portion of the city’s central business district, which includes the commercial area along Pacific Avenue.

The area has historically been a popular tourist destination, but in recent years has faced challenges due to changing tourism patterns and other economic factors.

To address these challenges, the Pacific Avenue Redevelopment Zoning District has established guidelines for the development of new residential and commercial projects.

The district allows for increased residential development in previously restricted areas, with the goal of attracting more full-time residents to the area. The plan also encourages a mix of housing types, including affordable housing units.

The Pacific Avenue Redevelopment Zoning District in Wildwood has design standards that aim to create an attractive and cohesive appearance for the area.

The plan emphasizes pedestrian-friendly design features such as direct pedestrian access to each residence, through porches or stairs, and a prohibition on excessive off-street parking in front of homes.

The commercial development has been refocused to a central area, creating a compact and energetic downtown “core” that new residents can easily connect to.

Some of the projects that have come as a result of this are the 38 dwellings on Magnolia, the Seaport Suites, Movies by the Sea and so many more.

There looks to be one more major project coming to Pacific Avenue.

The block on 3700 Pacific Avenue has been a staging area for the Seaport Suites since the Shamrock Beef & Ale closed and sold their lot to BG Capital.

Moving The Shamrock - Drone VideoFor over a year visitors have been wondering what would be moving into its place. Thanks to a new application submitted by BG Capital we now know.

According to the application;

“the Applicant seeks to subdivide the two (2) currently-existing lots that make up the property through a minor subdivision and to create four (4) total lots, each of which will contain one (1) of the four (4) total buildings that house the proposed twenty (20) residential units sought to be developed through this application.”

The online application doesn’t go into details about the property (parking, number of floors or if the building will have businesses on the ground level).

Those looking to get more information can attend the Wildwood Planning & Zoning Board on April 3, 2023, at 6:00 PM.
