It’s that time of year when the smell of fresh pizza can be found all over the island. (I’m not lying too. Walking to the boardwalk we could smell pizza from 22nd and Ocean Avenues).
Sam’s Pizza Palace, located at 26th and the Wildwood Boardwalk, opened on Friday, February 18th as a line of folks got ready to get their first slice of the year.
This weekend marked their 66th season on the Wildwood Boardwalk.
For many of us, the opening of Sam’s Pizza isn’t just a pizza joint opening it’s a sign that Spring will be here. (and summer quickly behind it)
If you weren’t able to make it down let’s recap it via a video (at the bottom of this article).
On Sunday, the day that this video was filmed, the boardwalk was packed with people watching to get a slice. The indoor dining room had a line that stretched from the door to the ramp on the left side of the building.
The take-out line wasn’t any shorter as it crossed the boardwalk to the benches.
It seemed to be like that for Saturday as well even though the thirty-mile-per-hour winds kept many of us at home.
If you didn’t make it down to Sam’s Pizza Palace, don’t worry!
From now they will be open on weekends and follow a schedule such as
Friday: 10:30am – 7:00pm
Saturday: 10:30am – 7:00pm
Sunday: 10:30am – 5:00pm
Do keep an eye on their Facebook page as sometimes this schedule will change especially as we get closer to Summer.
For those asking about Mack’s Pizza…Their Roberts Ave location will open up on March 26th.
