Saying Goodbye to the Shamrock – Video Tour

Saying Goodbye to the Shamrock – Video Tour

We have some extremely sad news coming out of Wildwood today. The Shamrock, which is located at 3700 Pacific Ave in Wildwood, has shut it’s doors. (See video tour at the bottom of the page)

For the past year, we have been reporting on and off about The Shamrock and the pandemic.

The state had come in and shut them down twice now for ‘breaking covid’ protocols and they are currently in a shutdown that would last through Labor Day Weekend.

According to our sources, the land is being purchased to become a parking lot for some of the new projects taking form on Pacific Ave. This would mean that Shamrock will be getting demolished.

The Shamrock has been a staple in Wildwood since 1937 but what’s older than the bar is the victorian house that’s sitting on top of it. That victorian is from the late 1800s and has been around since the Holly Beach days.

There is a strong possibility that this victorian house will be moved down the street, off Pacific ave. If this happens part of the history of The Shamrock will be saved.

The owner might be having a sale soon to liquidate some of the bar’s memorabilia so stay tuned for that announcement.

Since many people didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to the Shamrock, Castaways, and Club Amnesia, we figured it would be a good idea to give you one last tour.

As you know we try to do everything in our power to preserve history. In these cases, the best we can do is film the building as a time capsule so that the memories live on.
