The Pointer Sisters & The Spinners Headline Wildwoods ‘50s, ‘60s & ‘70s Weekend

Get ready to turn back time! On Saturday, October 18, two legendary groups, The Pointer Sisters and The Spinners, will bring a tidal wave of hits to the Wildwoods Convention Center for a concert that promises to be the crown jewel of the annual ‘50s, ‘60s & ‘70s Weekend.

For decades, Wildwood has celebrated its deep musical roots, especially its iconic connection to Doo-Wop, a genre that helped shape American pop music.

In the 1950s and ‘60s, Wildwood’s clubs and ballrooms were a proving ground for rising stars, with many performers testing their songs on the Wildwoods crowds before releasing them nationwide.

The island’s glowing neon motels and retro architecture, often called “Doo-Wop style,” or “Googie” still stand today as a tribute to that golden era.

That legacy lives on with this unforgettable weekend, culminating in a three-hour concert featuring The Pointer Sisters and The Spinners, two groups that helped shape the soundtracks of the ‘70s and ‘80s.

The Pointer Sisters, known for their dynamic harmonies and high-octane performances, scored hits across multiple genres, including pop, R&B, and even country.

With a catalog that includes “I’ll Be Around,” “Could It Be I’m Falling in Love,” and “Rubberband Man,” The Spinners continue to bring silky harmonies and timeless grooves to fans around the world.

In 2023, their contributions were officially recognized with an induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
