Friday, May 27th
Unlocking of the Ocean Ceremony
The Wildwoods Memorial Day Weekend Events 2022
It’s time to get your feet sandy! Come join us to officially start the summer season on the beach next to the Wildwoods Convention Center. A large, ornate key will be used to ‘unlock’ the ocean, along with tourism and city officials, and guest speakers. This event is FREE to attend and kicks off at 11:00 a.m. For more information call 609.729.9000.
Wildwoods International Kite Festival
On the beach at Rio Grande Avenue, Wildwood, and inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. Event begins on Friday at 11:00 a.m. with the Unlocking of the Ocean media event outside of the Wildwoods Convention Center. Festivities following include the opening of the Kite Sales Tent, a Friday night social via the local kite club, and the 9:00 p.m. illuminated night kite fly. Saturday includes the silent and loud auctions (open to all) and Saturday and Sunday include the flying of large inflatable kites, team flying, as well as family games. NEW for 2022…Check out the “Boardwalk on the Beach” food court and vendors! Sky Festival Productions, along with South Jersey Kite Flyers, is thrilled to announce that there will be not only one, but two days of “playshops” that are designer-intensive and focuses on the mental and creative opening to your minds’ creative limits. Presented by the George Peters on Saturday, May 28 and Sunday, May 29. Monday features the World indoor Kite exhibition inside the Wildwoods Convention Center- FREE to spectators. Morey’s Opening Day for Surfside and Adventure Pier
Opening at 6pm, Surfside Pier and Adventure Pier will be opening for their first time this season at 6pm along side Mariner’s Pier.
This will also be their first night the piers are open until midnight.

Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market Season Kick-Off
THE place to be every Saturday morning from Memorial Day to Labor Day Weekend! Each week you will find over 60 vendors selling farm goods, baked goods, jewelry, crafts, specialty foods, wine, beer, spirits and much more! Spread across both sides of Pacific Avenue in Byrne Plaza & Beyond, on Pacific Avenue from Oak Avenue (3400 Pacific Ave) to Schellenger Avenue (3501 Pacific Ave).

Sunday, May 29th
Sunrise On Sunday Veteran Flag Service
A free weekly ceremony every Sunday morning to raise the casket flag of a Veteran to honor and remember ALL Veterans, held at the Lou Booth Amphitheater at 2nd and Ocean Avenues in North Wildwood. Arrive 10 minutes before sunrise to participate in a 20-minute tribute and inspirational message at the most beautiful vista on the Jersey Shore. This location offers photo ops galore! The Flag Raising Ceremony is weather permitting as Veteran Casket Flags are not for all-weather. Cancellations will be posted within a half hour of the scheduled service on the Weekly Schedule page on SunriseOnSunday.com.
Patrick Corcoran 5K Memorial Day Run
Annual “Run to Remember” 5K and 1 mile walk at 16th and the Beach next to the North Wildwood Beach Patrol headquarters. 7:30 a.m. registration, race at 9 a.m. Benefitting our veterans and those that have lost loved ones in service to their country. Monday, May 30th
North Wildwood Memorial Day Ceremony
A Memorial Day Ceremony will be held at the North Wildwood Veterans Monument, located at Spruce and New York Avenues in North Wildwood at 10 a.m., hosted by the VFW Post 5941. There will also be a service earlier that morning at 9:30 a.m. at the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse flagpole where the names of the VFW Post 5941 members who have deceased since last Memorial Day will be read and their service honored. Wildwood Memorial Day Ceremony
