Transformer Issue Caused Wildwood Blackout Wildwood Writer August 1, 2018 Articles, Wildwood Articles 1844 Transformer Issue Caused Wildwood Blackout Last night around 10:45pm, North Wildwood and Wildwood experienced a blackout. The power outage even caused most of the boardwalk to lose power. It was announced around 2AM that the outage was caused by a blown transformer. Luckily there were no reported injuries nor any issues with the rides at Morey’s Piers. By 12:10am the power was back on! This wasn’t the first power outage we had in Wildwood. The last one we had was during a lighting and thunder storm last summer. That blackout was caught on camera. Below is the video of the 2017 blackout.
