USNS Comfort Is Off Of The Coast Of Wildwood!

Around 12-noon today, Sunday March 29th, the Military ship, USNS Comfort, was off the coast of Wildwood and Cape May New Jersey. It is currently in route to New York City where it will be used as a hospital ship to serve the New York City Region during the Coronavirus.

The USNS Comfort is a Mercy-class hospital ship from the the U.S. Navy’s fleet. The USNS prefix identifies Comfort as a non-commissioned ship owned by the U.S. Navy and operationally crewed by civilians from the Military Sealift Command.

It can handle up to 1000 Patients and has 12 operating rooms. Once docked in New York City it will be a hospital for all thing non-related to the coronavirus. It will help with the overflow of hospitals in the city.

It was roughly 50 miles of the coast, so the only way you could get a photo is if you flew over it or had a big lens. (Below is drone footage from when it left it’s main harbor in Maryland)

We are sending our praise too all Doctors, Nurses and caretakers!!
