Wildwood Boardwalk Reconstruction Update – April 2022
For those who don’t know, the city of Wildwood is working on a multi-year project which will see the reconstruction of most of the Wildwood Boardwalk.
This project is projected to cost 25 Million and will be broken up into different phases
The first phases of the project included the streets between Oak and Maple Avenues.
Over the past few months contractors ripped up the old boardwalk, removed the tramcar pathways, fixed up the existing concrete, and laid the first layer of wood on top.
Currently, they are installing the new 2x4s on top and making a new pattern on the boardwalk.
This project is running on schedule with a completion date of mid-May, but there is a bit of a change.
The original wood that the city was using for the project was delayed and wouldn’t be here until mid-April.
Instead, the city changed to Pine so that the project will finish as scheduled.
The other wood will come in and will be used for the next section of the project.
