Wildwood Boardwalk Reconstruction Update – March 2022
Wildwood Boardwalk Reconstruction Update – March 2022
This past week we have uploaded our monthly Wildwood Construction Update and in that video, we hit many different construction projects.
The one that everyone always has questions about is the Wildwood Boardwalk reconstruction project. As promised in that video I told you I would go back for a full in-depth tour and update at it.
Wildwood Boardwalk Reconstruction Update – March 2022
For those who don’t know about the project, the Wildwood Boardwalk is going through a 5 year, 25 million project which could see the entire length of the Wildwood section of the boardwalk replaced.
The project is broken up into five stages. These stages would break down the entire length of the Wildwood sections of the boardwalk. Stage one is seeing the reconstruction from Maple to Oak Ave.
To prepare for this the contractors ripped off the old boards, removed the concrete pathways, and fixed any issues with the existing supports. Once that was done they then smoothed out the top layers of the concrete to create an even surface to attach the new wood to.
In our last video, which you can see by clicking HERE, we showed you how the crews were building the new concrete support beams on where the tramcar drives.
Since the concrete pathways won’t be replaced many of you had questions on how the tramcar will be supported. First crews add brackets to the concrete and then lay 4X6s on top of the concrete. In sections where the tram car will drive over, the 4×6 gets overlaid.
In this video, we will showcase that part of the project but also give you a full tour of the construction site and a drone video.
