While its route has changed over the years, the broadcast normally shows a shot of them moving down Broad Street in Center City.

The parade is organized by the Mummers Association, which is made up of various clubs that compete against one another to put on the best performance.

There are five different categories that compete that consists of the Comics, Wench Brigades, Fancies, String Bands, and Fancy Brigades.

The parade attracts thousands of spectators and has become an iconic part of Philadelphia’s cultural landscape.

This New Year’s Day one of the Wench Brigades paid honor to the Wildwoods by making us their main theme.

While you can watch their full performance at the bottom of this page, let’s break down what made this so special.

Their performance started with a picture of the Wildwood Boardwalk looking south from Morey’s Piers Mariner’s Pier.

As soon as the music started, the world Famous Tramcar, a knock-off, came rolling out. In the distance, you could hear “Watch the Tramcar Please.”

Once the panels opened over 100 wenches came running out dressed up like beach balls. Colors blue, yellow and red flooded Broad Street.

In the end, they won first place in the Wench Brigade Division.
