Wildwood Labor Day Weekend Video Recap – Another Amazing Summer is Over
And just like that, another summer in the Wildwoods comes to an end.
Hey Everyone! Joey here! It’s always a strange feeling this time of year, and to be honest, I get quite upset.
For months, our little island is alive. The boardwalk is packed, the rides are running, fireworks fill the sky, and everywhere you look there are families making beautiful memories they’ll probably talk about for the rest of their lives.

Then suddenly, it gets quiet.
The crowds disappear. The nights get cooler. The rides start going dark earlier, and before you know it, you’re walking down a boardwalk that feels completely different than it did just a few weeks ago.
I’ve spent so much of my life documenting this island, and somehow I still get emotional watching another summer slip away.
Maybe it’s because summer down here is more than just a season.
It’s watching kids experience the boardwalk for the first time. It’s the smell of the ocean mixed with pizza and fries. It’s hearing the roller coasters from blocks away. It’s beach days that somehow turn into boardwalk nights. It’s traditions that have been passed down through generations. And every year, without really realizing it, we become part of somebody else’s Wildwood memories.
Summer 2026 gave us another chapter.
There were beautiful days, crazy days, packed weekends, quiet mornings, sunsets over the bay, fireworks over the beach, and countless moments that reminded me why this place means so much to so many people. The good thing about the Wildwoods is that summer never really says goodbye.
It just says, “See you next year.”
Thank you for another incredible summer, and as usual…. I will see you on the beach

In case you were unable to get down to the Wildwoods for Labor Day weekend, do not worry. The entire weekend, from Friday through Monday, I spent a crazy amount of time recording everything I could so that I can put together a video recap.
This video, which is almost half an hour long, really showcases the essence of not only Labor Day weekend, but also all the fun we have here in the Wildwoods every single summer.
Remember, though, we still have a full fall with tons of events down here, from the Irish Fest weekend to Mummers weekend to the air show and Columbus Day weekend. So we still have two months filled with fun activities ahead.
