Wildwood Motel Files For An Expansion!

We have some great news coming out of Wildwood today. The Oceanic Hotel located at 4600 Ocean Ave in Wildwood is looking to expand it’s footprint.

In a zoning meeting in early June, the owners put forward an application to renovate the existing structure, demolish the existing cottages behind their building and add a hotel addition with a pool and sundeck. 

By cottages they are referring to the row of units behind the building. They are one story units that were built in the 1940s. The hotel would be extended back to this area and build up a few stories. This is where the new 36 units would stand. (See photo below)

To deal with the parking they are looking to add 55 parking spaces on site under the hotel. This is an addition to a lot they already use down the street.

This project will also upgrade their laundry facility, exercise room, banquet facility and renovate all the existing rooms.

If approved this project will start in the off-season.

With the Oceanic being the closes hotel to the convention center it will provide more year-round lodging for visitors. We wish them the best of luck!
