Wildwood Nor’easter Photos And Videos

Currently a massive Nor’Easter is hitting the tristate hard. While North Jersey is getting smacked with up to two feet of snow, here in Cape May County we are dealing with another issue, the tides.

According to the latest from the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, “Coastal flooding is expected to reach moderate levels with this morning’s high tide along the Atlantic coast and Delaware Bay, with additional coastal flooding expected tonight and Tuesday morning. Isolated instances of major flooding cannot be ruled out.”

What that means for us at the shore is that we expect the ocean to be roaring over the bulkhead in North Wildwood’s beach front (3rd and JFK) and for the back bays to be spilling into the streets.

While it sounds bad it’s not as bad as they predicted a week ago. Right now we are looking at a  7’8” tide hight which is considered moderate. They oringally projected up to 9.2 which is considered major.

We are expected to have two more tide cycles which will push more water on to the roads around that 7’8” mark. Over Average for this time of year is about 5 feet so we will still see a little bit of flooding.

Some folks were out and about taking photos and videos. We went ahead and added some below (with credit to them).
