WILDWOOD, NJ, September 3, 2024 – The annual September 11, 2001 Remembrance Ceremony will take place at Byrne Plaza in Downtown Wildwood on Wednesday, September 11th at 1:00 p.m.

Organized by the Wildwood Business Improvement District (WBID), this solemn event honors the 2,977 lives lost and thousands of others injured during the September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.

Additionally, the ceremony pays tribute to the thousands of first responders who have passed away over the last 23 years due to 9/11-related illnesses.

The event will feature 9/11 first responders, along with representatives from the City of Wildwood Fire and Police Departments, and local religious and civic leaders.

A series of tributes will take place, including the “Ringing of the Bell” ceremony by the Wildwood Fire Department and a Presentation of the Colors by the City of Wildwood Honor Guard.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to attend as the community comes together to honor and remember the tragic events of that day, ensuring that the promise to “never forget” remains alive.
