Wildwood To Start Off-Season Traffic Lights

As discussed in our other post, “The Signs of The End of Summer,” things are already switching over to Fall.

Just today the Wildwood Police Department announced that traffic lights at certain intersections are being switched to “Flash” mode effective Oct 1, 2018.

What “Flash” mode is referring to is no more normal operation of a Red, Yellow, Green motion. Instead main street interactions will have blinking yellow (on main road) and blinking red (on side roads).

This is done because we don’t have many cars down here during the off-season. If we were to leave them normal during the fall, Winter and Spring we would waste a ton of time waiting for no one to at a red light.

In the Wildwood Police message on Facebook they also reminded us; “use caution when approaching intersections and also note that the speed limit still remains 25 mph throughout the majority of the City.”
