Wildwoods Construction Update – Dec 2023
While temperatures start to drop outside, the heat on new construction in the Wildwoods is getting raised to a new level.
This December crews on multiple projects in the Wildwoods are working like crazy with a group of worker bees to make sure their properties are ready for the 2024 summer season.
Since the Wildwood Video Archive’s last update, there has been a ton of progress on projects such as Kay’s Oasis, the Wildwoods Boardwalk Reconstruction, and Wildwood Crest’s Madison Resort.
There have also been new projects that have taken place such as the renovation of the Binns and Bonito Motel, the demolition of Exit 4 Bar and a zoning meeting to hear new applications.
The WVA filmed a recap video of these projects and more for the monthly Wildwoods Construction Update. Scroll down to the bottom of the article to watch the recap.
Kay’s Oasis Construction
Kay’s Oasis is currently building up its southern units. Located at 400 Magnolia Avenue, this 17-unit townhouse project will feature amenities and designs not seen in this size on the island.
The most remarkable feature of this project is the sprawling courtyard that will be located in the center of the block. This massive outdoor space will boast an impressive array of amenities, including two swimming pools for children a regular-sized pool, a jacuzzi, and a grand pavilion.
The Binns and Bonito Motel Renovation
The Binns and Bonito Motel had been sold a few weeks back and crews have been working daily to renovate the entire property.
These two motels had been purchased by the team that owns the Waves Motel and Tropicana Motel just down the street. They are completely gut these new motels and make them into a top-of-the-line resort with all the modern amenities and conveniences.
The preview mockup showcases beautifully laid-out rooms with a more modern take on Doo-Wop. The building itself will get many Doo-Wop features including the addition of a few “blast-off” roofs. These pieces will mimic the shape of a jet plane taking off, which was a prominent feature in many of the motels in the area during the 1960s when space travel was a popular theme.
Exit 4 Demolition
Last year “The Woods” bar, located on the corner of Garfield and Pacific, had gotten rebranded as “Exit 4,” a play on its sister bar in North Wildwood, “Exit 6.”
Its owner BG Capital, had moved its team into the new Seaport Suites and as of last week demolished the building.
There is no application in place at this time for this space. BG Capital also owns the old VFW just next door to this property.
Madison Resort Wildwood Crest
Work at the Madison Resort in Wildwood Crest has flown by. Since the last update, crews have installed new windows, and doors, finished up the electric work, and have now started on the interior of the building.

At the time of the visit, the main building was getting its Doo-Wop windows and siding installed.
It looks like they will be fully finished with the exterior in a few weeks.
