Octoberfest Is Coming Back to Morey’s Piers

As we head into the shoulder season there are so many amazing events to look forward to. From the Fall Irish Festival to the Food And Music Festival, there is something for everything.

It’s this time of year when one Country’s tradition and event overtake Morey’s Piers. That is the celebration of Germany’s Oktoberfest.

Traditionally Oktoberfest starts on the third Saturday in September and goes until the first week of October in Munich.

For the past few years, Morey’s Piers has been offering their own version of the German classic.

Starting on September 16th and running the weekend until Sunday, October 9th, Morey’s Piers transforms into an American Munich.

From beer, and live entertainment to specialty foods, Moreys has it all.

Many moons ago, he was ripped from rocks on the distant shores of Germany, caught by a current, and pulled deep into the darkest oceans. His eight legs sprawling this way and that, he finally ran aground, washing up on Mariner’s Pier — lederhosen and all.

Folks of the Wildwoods, no strangers to the unusual, welcomed Oktober das Oktopas with open arms. He introduced them to all the joys of the Oktoberfest, that ancient German tradition of merriment, roller coasters, tilt-a-whirls, pretzels, and bratwurst. Mmmmm….sausage.

Each year Morey’s Oktoberfest grew bigger and better. With live music, activities for the little squirts, rides, and of course, Bier on the Pier. It wasn’t long until everyone was wilkommen — kicking back and reclining mit der drinken in der bier garten. Auf Wiedersehen!
