Beached Seal Saved
Yesterday around 1pm a seal made his way out of the ocean and on to the Wildwood Crest. At first Wildwood resident Mikey B went to take a photo of the seal but then realized he was covered in fishing wire and covered in blood.
After the seal started to move it was even more noticeable that he was in much pain. Mikey called the Marine Mammal Stranding Center.
The center was on the scene within an hour. They were able to capture the seal after trapping him in cones. Once in the cones a center member was able to grab the seal with a net and put him in a cage. As of right now the seal is at the Marine Mammal Stranding Center.
One thing to always remember when you see a stranded seal on the beach, do not approach it. Call Marine Mammal Stranding Center at 609-266-0538 and let the professionals handle it.
Tune back later for more information.
