Demo Starts At Sea Isle City’s Springfield Inn
As you know, we like to report on every town in Cape May County. For today’s article we head over to Sea Isle City.
From time to time many Wildwood visitors head over to Sea Isle City for some of their bars and clubs such as O’Donnell’s Pour House, Ocean Drive Bar and Shenanigans.
One of Sea Isle City’s iconic bars, Springfield Inn, is now no more.
In an article we wrote back in October, that the Springfield Inn, located at 43rd and Pleasure Ave, was finally sold after the first buyer fell through.
The new owners, who also own “The Point” located in Somers Point, wanted to demolish the Springfield Inn and turn it into an outdoor beach bar with a restaurant.
While we didn’t find out that the sale had gone until October, we did find that the liquor license (Plenary Retail Consumption License) had been transferred back in September. This is when we knew that the Springfield Inn’s fate was sealed.
Yesterday, February 8th, we learned that the demolition of the Springfield Inn started.
We were able to find some photos and videos online to share with you.
