50 Veteran Flags will be unfurled on the North Wildwood seawall at the FLAGS OF LIBERTY – Veteran Awareness Benefit being held Sunday, June 30 th at 5:30AM at the Lou Booth Amphitheater. The event is planned to draw several hundred people to honor Veterans and give them a voice from Beyond in helping to bring attention to the needs of Veterans among us. Flags of Liberty was organized by Sunrise On Sunday, Founder and Officiant, Deb Moore and its supporters, who have been preparing for the event for over one year.
The public is invited to participate in the beautiful sunrise ceremony June 30 th which begins at 5:30AM, the protocol for raising the American Flag. The ceremony MC will be Deb Moore, Founder, Sunrise On Sunday, and there will be a brief address by guest speakers Mayor Patrick Rosenello and the Director of Veteran Affairs, Vincent Kane, Jr. The Kane family will be unfurling the Veteran Flag of Vincent Kane Sr, U.S. Army, Ex-Prisoner Of War in WWII, who recently went to be with the Lord May 2019. Scouts from Troop #389 chartered by the Atlantic Christian School will lead the seawall procession with the POW MIA Flag.
Centenarian, James Neill, Veteran, WWII, originally from North Wildwood, was named the Flags of Liberty, Honorary Ambassador, and will be escorted to the event courtesy of TD Limousine. The seawall procession and National Anthem will be led by the Emerald Society Honor Guard and Bagpipes by the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 8-3 Wildwood. Singers from the Christ Gospel Love Center will be leading the National Anthem during the raising of the Flag and God Bless American during the unfurling of the 50 Veteran Flags on the Seawall of Honor.
