Fourth Arrest Announced Related to Unsanctioned H2Oi Car Rally – Press Release
Cape May Court House, New Jersey – Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Sutherland and Chief Robert Regalbuto of the Wildwood Police Department announce a fourth arrest has been made relating to the unsanctioned H2Oi car rally from the weekend of September 24, 2022.
On October 13, 2022, after receiving numerous tips from the public, Joshua Bocchino, a 19-year-old male from West End Avenue in Long Branch, NJ was identified as the individual who was being sought by police for assaulting an officer on the night of September 24, 2022.
On this same date, Detectives from the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office and the Wildwood Police Department arrested Bocchino at his residence without incident and transported him back to the Wildwood Police Department. Bocchino was processed and charged with Aggravated Assault, a crime of the 3rd degree; Resisting Arrest, a crime of the 3rd degree, and Obstruction of Justice, a disorderly persons offense. * Bocchino was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Facility pending Court proceedings.
Prosecutor Sutherland and Chief Regalbuto commend the detectives who continue to work diligently to investigate the criminal events that took place during the unsanctioned H2Oi car rally. According to Prosecutor Sutherland; “We are continuing to review video footage and receive tips from the public to make sure we charge all the individuals who are identified as criminal actors during riotous and reckless events that took place during the weekend of September 24, 2022.” Prosecutor Sutherland stated these types of criminal behaviors will not be tolerated and perpetrators will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
Prosecutor Sutherland and Chief Regalbuto are still seeking assistance from the public in identifying a black Honda Accord and it’s driver who were involved in a serious car crash with a golf cart and then fled the scene on the night of Saturday, September 24th. This Honda Accord has a distinct aftermarket tail light package and should have significant damage to the front passenger side quarter panel.
