Kay’s Oasis Is Coming To Wildwood

Kay’s Oasis Is Coming To Wildwood

Everyone visitors hears that a new condominium project is coming to the Wildwoods people get upset. It’s not because they don’t want growth on the island but over the past few decades condominium projects have gotten a bad name for themselves due to their looks.

This all started back in 2003 when it seemed that every motel in the Wildwoods was being sold and turned into stackable units. These new condos lacked all the flair and fun that they replaced, the Doo-Wop Mid-Century style motels from the 50s and 60s.

It was places like the Satellite Motel, Casa Bahama Motel, La Vita Motel, Rio Motel and so much more that helped make the Wildwoods the Doo-Wop Capital of the World.

From 2003-2011, the Wildwoods lost over 90 of these motels, and in their place were condos.

Those days of the condo boom are over. Instead of seeing motels being torn down, they are becoming condotels. This is when the units in the motels are renovated and sold off. This is the preferred method since it still keeps the historic buildings that make the Wildwoods so special.

Along with motels being saved the island has seen a change in how condos are being built. Due to the unattractiveness of the 2003-2011 condos, developers are taking a new approach to make these properties unique and fun again.

There is a new townhouse project that will be presented in June called Kay’s Oasis which is leading the change.

If approved, Kay’s Oasis will bring a few new things to a project not seen as of yet.

Located at 400 Magnolia Avenue, this 17-unit townhouse project will feature amenities and designs not seen in this size on the island.

This location for the past few decades has been a parking lot, so for those worried about history being torn down, all is good.

The project name, ‘Kay’s Oasis’ has a very special meaning behind it. The owner wanted to build something to honor their late mother. It’s more than that too. They wanted to create a project that is geared toward families and making beautiful memories.

Let’s break down the project starting off with the buildings.

These units will be three bedrooms with 2 1/2 baths and include enough parking for two cars per unit. This means that there is no need for concern regarding parking for the project.

One of the things that makes this project stand out is the rooftop decks. From here owners can watch the Wildwood Boardwalk Fireworks without having to go to the beach.

The most remarkable feature of this project is the sprawling courtyard that will be located in the center of the block.

This massive outdoor space will boast an impressive array of amenities, including two swimming pools – one for children and another regular-sized pool, a jacuzzi, and a grand pavilion.

The pavilion will be a hub of activity and entertainment, featuring a multifunctional room, a large television, table-top shuffleboard, vending machines, exercise equipment, charging stations, and much more.

It will be a versatile space that can be used for everything from parties and gatherings to relaxation and leisure.

Moreover, the outdoor space will offer a variety of games and activities for both children and adults alike, such as Giant Jenga, giant Connect Four, and cornhole. These games will provide endless hours of fun and enjoyment for everyone.

This is the area where memories will be made, summer days and summer nights.

To top it all off, you are right on the boardwalk/beach block, meaning that you don’t need o drive around the back looking for parking.

The Wildwood Video Archive stopped by the property this week to not only give viewers a tour but also showcase some of the blueprints and mockups.

Since the application hasn’t been approved yet, construction isn’t expected to begin until Fall 2023.

The goal is to have the Glenwood side completed for the summer of 24 and the Magnolia side ready in 2025.

Overall, this project promises to be a truly exceptional development, offering an impressive range of amenities and activities for residents and visitors alike. The centerpiece courtyard is undoubtedly a standout feature, providing a serene and relaxing oasis.
