Kelly’s Cafe To Become Copper Dog
A few weeks back aw announced that Kelly’s Cafe, a popular restaurant in Wildwood, New Jersey, has sold.
The owners, Patrice and Victor, made the announcement on Facebook by saying;
“It’s true. After word got out all over social media, we figured it was time to put out a statement. After 32 years of owning, managing, working and basically spending more than half our lives at Kelly’s Cafe, we have decided that it is time to sell. We have accepted an offer from a very knowledgeable family that has been in the business themselves for years.”
They continued by saying, “We really enjoyed and will miss all the wonderful people we have met over the years. We hope Kellys Cafe made many memorable moments for everyone to remember. Thank you. As far as we know, Kelly’s Cafe will still remain a historical landmark, restaurant, and bar. We would really like to thank all of our employees over the years for making Kelly’s Cafe successful and well-known. We will miss all of you! That being said, good luck and much success to the new owners and thank you to everyone who came into our lives through Kelly’s Cafe.”
The restaurant has been a staple in the community for over 60 years and is known for its delicious food and friendly atmosphere.
The sale of Kelly’s Cafe has generated a lot of interest and concern among locals who were worried that the new owners might change the restaurant’s menu or renovate the interior.
Today we found out that Kelly’s Cafe will indeed be changing. As The Wildwood Video first reported a month ago, the family who purchased the restaurant did so under the name Cooper Dog LLC.
Now a Facebook page has been created that is advertising a new spot called Cooper Dog “Wildwood by the Sea” with the address being 4400 Atlantic Avenue.
This is the address of Kelly’s Cafe.

Their new website, Cooper Dog Wildwood, gives us a bit of history behind the name of the restaurant by saying;
“Our namesake pays tribute to our own copper dog, Vivian. We’d love to extend an invite to your well-behaved four-legged family members, who are welcome to join us at our dog-friendly restaurant outdoor dining area in Wildwood.”
While there isn’t a menu posted just yet, from their website we can see that their menu features something for everyone—from appetizers like wings, calamari, and charcuterie boards, to sushi or fresh salads with locally sourced produce, to sandwich staples like cheesesteaks and burgers. Join us for supper starting at 4PM, which includes Maryland style crab cakes and herb roasted rotisserie chicken, made in-house daily.
For those asking the famous Kelly’s Cafe sign will be saved!
We wish the owners the best of luck with their new location!
Be sure to follow them on Facebook.
