Morey’s Piers To Open Their Own Golf Course!
No, this isn’t an April Fool’s day joke.
Back In September, Laguna Oaks Golf Course, located at 600 Bayberry Dr, Cape May Court House, announced on Facebook that things were going to change.
Their post went on to say, very vaguely that “Laguna is being transformed into a place for a new generation of fun. So bring your music, a six-pack, or some seltzers, and prepare to have one of the best one-and-a-half-hour experiences you have ever had on a golf course!”
Not much information was sent out to the world on what would be happened to this area.
Known as Cape May County’s best-kept secret, this eight-hole masterpiece had become one of the most challenging and beautiful Par-3 Course players ever played.
Laguna Oaks was designed by Fred Langford and included 89 serene acres of meadow land, willow oak trees, ponds, and waterfalls.
Their Facebook page had gone dark since October. This isn’t any too out of the ordinary since no one was putting it off during the freezing off-season.

It wasn’t until March 30th when the Laguna Oaks page changed its name to BigLittle9 Golf Course.
Along with the Facebook page change, the golf course website, lagunaoaksgolf.com, suddenly redirected to biglittle9.com.
From there all the logos were plastered with the news that Morey’s Piers had taken over the reigns of the course calling them “The Happiest Golf Course on Earth.”
Their website breaks down tons of changes they are making to the course.

It talks about the changes by saying;
‘Big Little 9 will be introducing many improvements and new items in 2023. Foremost is the completion of the 9th hole. While every hole is truly a signature hole the 9th hole is the only hole that tees off with a view of the salt marshes. This hole is the culmination of Fred Langford’s vision of a perfect par-3 course.”
“One of the new amenities is the addition of Cup of Bliss on the Green – a cafe offering coffee, cappuccino, lattes, cold beverages and baked goods. The Club House has been upgraded. Stop by to browse the new collection of cool Big Little 9 merchandise.”
Morey’s is even paying homage to Langford by adding a new willow tree near the 7th hole.
While prices aren’t listed online as of yet, they are teasing different types of memberships (Annual, Spring + Fall, Family and Corporate)
Jack Morey added a special message to the website by saying “The Morey family is pleased to welcome the Big Little 9 to their collection of entertainment and resort properties. The course offers a unique slice (pun intended) to their passion for family entertainment. We are certain that once you experience the course’s beauty and uniqueness, you will be hooked (also pun intended). As with the amusement piers and waterparks, we are already planning new attractions and amenities for the future. On behalf of the Morey Family, I welcome you to the Big Little 9.”
Big Little 9 will have its grand opening on Saturday, April 8th.
We wish the Morey’s the best of luck with their new golfing adventure.
