The Wildwoods have only been in the off-season for a few weeks and already major changes are coming to the Wildwoods Boardwalk.

While Wildwood has already started its massive facelift of the Wildwood Boardwalk between Maple and 26nd street, on 22nd street there is a big change on its way.

Those walking down the boardwalk this past week would have noticed a big dumpster sitting behind the shops at 22nd and the boardwalk. While many of us didn’t know which shop was filling it up, today we got our answer.

In a post on Facebook late Sunday night, the account, Quinn’s Original Fudge Island, posted that they have taken over the page and will be occupying 2200 boardwalk. This was the address of one of two locations of The Original Fudge Kitchen. The other address they own is 4120 Boardwalk, aka Youngs Ave and the boardwalk.

Fudge Island’s post went on say;

It will be at 2200 Boardwalk in North Wildwood.  Please give me a chance to show you my new shop and maybe become one of your new seashore traditions. Open this coming February!!”

There was no announcement from The Original Fudge Kitchen’s website that this location was closing but it still listed its North Wildwood location as an active shop.

We reached out for a comment to see if the Wildwood location will stay open but haven’t heard back from them.

The Original Fudge Kitchen has been in business for over 50 years. Currently, they have five locations in South Jersey; Cape May, Wildwood, Stone Harbor, and Ocean City.

Their North Wildwood location has been there for at least 20 years, or as far back as we can remember.

We want to wish John Quinn the best of luck with the new business. Located right in front of Seaport Pier, this one will surely be a hit with pier goers.

The Wildwood Video Archive will be sure to include Fudge Island in all of our upcoming Wildwoods Construction update videos.

On October 16th we posted our latest update. You can check out that video below.
