Rio Station Goes Up For Sale!

Rio Station Goes Up For Sale!

As I was scrolling through my ‘just listed’ property list a familiar address came up; 3505 Route 9 South.

We were quick to figure out that it is the address to the famous Rio Station.  After doing a little research we found the listing for the Rio Station on Coastline Realty’s website listed for $3.5 million.

The listing goes off to say;

“Successful turn-key, year-round Restaurant/Bar, in operation for 35 years, “The Rio Station”, with approximately 199 indoor and 70 outdoor seats, in the heart of the busiest commercial district in Cape May County w/ over 150 parking spaces! Included in the sale: the business, equipment, fixtures, Class-C liquor license, land PLUS an extra huge vacant .94-acre lot to the North and next to the subject property. The total of both parcels measures approximately 1.29 Acres.”

“This is the only restaurant in the vicinity with a liquor license! So many ways to monetize this existing business and location. Use your imagination! Increase the size of the liquor store’ Sell Lottery tickets’ Add live entertainment, wing night, karaoke, trivia, build up on the restaurant up to 35’, sell off the vacant lot or build it out or rent it out and make income! The possibilities are endless!”

The listing was only posted on September 22nd so if your in the market to pick up an iconic Rio Grande restaurant this one could be yours.

The Rio Station is named after the Rio Grande train station that still exists today. While it’s not in it’s original location, behind the fire house, it was moved to Historic Cold Spring Village.

A note to whoever purchases it…keep following the same crab cake recipe. They really are world famous!

Here is an interesting fact for your. The head chef, Richard Rutherford,  trained at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. No wonder their food is amazing!
